Birds for Mixed Media Supplies

Hi Everyone

Here's my latest blog post for Mixed Media Supplies
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have created

I have all these shadow boxes from the little timber embellishment pieces that I've collected

The boxes have piled up and so I had to find something to do with them

Here's one I created using a few little birds, a nest, some flowers, stems and leaves I cut out with my scan n cut

The birds I painted with the Sapphire Blue Mica Powder it's such a vibrant blue

The nest is in the Copper Bronze Mica Powder my favourite colour

The tiny little heart that is on the nest is the Coral Reef Mica Powder it's so pretty
You can find all these Mica Powders form the Store

I also put a little bit of the Coral Reef Mica Powder on the flowers after spraying them with water first so they weren't too bright I just wanted the colour on the edges of the flowers

On the stems I painted the Shimmer Pearl Mica Powder  unfortunately the camera doesn't pick up the beautiful shimmer that powder gives off

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will come back soon xx

Owl for Mixed Media Supplies

Hi Everyone

Last post for me for the year for Mixed Media Supplies Blog

Also don't forget to check out our Facebook page for everything that's happening

I was lucky enough to get a few bits for Christmas and one was an
owl stencil of course I had to find a way to use it and I had fun with it

I used the Copper Bronze and Coral Reef Mica Powder mixed randomly over a plastic frame that I
had painted with gesso earlier I then used some  Frank Garcia Artisan powder rubbed
into the grooves of the frame to give it the patina look

I stencilled the owl then used water colour paints and cut him out so I could
raise him up out of the frame

The background paper I used from one of the Digital Printable Journal Pages we
have on the site I printed it off onto a card stock to add more texture

I added some lace in the background as well some time the photos don't show
all the details doesn't matter how many you take

And of course flowers are always needed with lots of other little details

Thanks for visiting I hope you will be back soon xx

Guest Designer for White With 1

Hey Everyone

I've been lucky enough to be chosen to be Guest Designer this month at White With 1

Make sure you check out what the Design Team have created with this palette and enter for you chance to win a great prize

This is the mood board  and colour palette - Blue Bayou

This is what I came up with

This is Roland he's the newest member of my friends family he's number 4
(number 2 in Great Danes) and they thought it would be cool to dress him up in
some jeans and a hoodie LOL he didn't care

I added lots of different textures to this layout adding sand to the paste and paints

I painted the metal with the textured paint  and left some of the embellishments white for a pop

I had to add a crown because he's now the king of the house being the baby he's spoilt

I used two stencils one with lines and the other with dots

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will be back soon xx

Babycino for Kraft + Challenges

Hey  everyone

The first challenge at Kraft + is about a coffee hit kick the new year off

My favourite cardstock to work on is Kraft so these challenges are perfect for me but I don’t get around to entering I don’t know why but anyway I made time to do this one

My daughters niece loves her babycino as you can tell by the photo
She’s making sure she gets the last drop

I kept the page fairly simple this time with just a couple of embellishments on it

I used two different stencils a swirl one and the other is like spill drops for a different texture
I then used a coffee spray over the back and a little pink to match her pretty jumper

I stamped a little blossom background stamp randomly around the page for another dimension but I think that’s gotten a bit lost in the spilt coffee LOL

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will be back soon xx

The Look for Soul Sisters Challenge

 Hey everyone

The Soul Sisters Challenge is so irresistible I had to join in

These colours aaaahhhhh I love them I do a lot of my mixed media projects that
I keep for myself in these colours

So I had to use the colour palette, chipboard, tags, sparkle and shine everything I love

This is a photo of my daughter's niece the look says it all LOL
I added a little bow to her hair she's so cute Miss Amelia

I used water colour paints in the colours that have an awesome shimmer to them
unfortunately they don't show up in the photos

The tag I made gold with some gold leaf embossing power which I also used on all the
wording that I used with a stencil and 3d matt gel

On the scolloped chipboard circle I used a glitter gold embossing powder for more sparkle

Of course there had to be flowers

I love the way the paint shows the pattern of the stencil

Here's a close up of the gold on the words it's so rich looking

Thanks for visiting and I hope you come back soon xx

Calm

Hey Everyone

Doesn't this photo make you feel calm
This is my gorgeous cousin Keira she's a very serene, spiritual soul and loves
all things in the outside world

Her husband Kadex took this photo (he has taken some amazing photos) in Bali

I made a video of the process I did to create this canvas which was quite an adventure LOL

You can watch it here on my YouTube channel
Sorry about the quality I don't know what's happened so if anyone can help please let me
know so I can fix it xx

When I saw the Dusty Attic Mandala stencil I knew I had to have it
I used some of the Finnabair Impasto Paints I watered them down so they mixed a bit

I painted whited gesso over the stencilled area after I painted it then rubbed it back so the gesso stayed in the grooves of the stencilled area

The background has about ten layers on it LOL
I couldn't decide how I wanted it to look and kept covering it up with gesso in
then end wiping it back gave it the look I liked

I embellished with a few bits I don't think this canvas needed a lot the photo
has to be the main focus so just a few flowers, a metal feather, a jar of "crystals"and
a large crystal and thats it

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will be back soon xx

Positive Quote for Mixed Media Supplies

Hey everyone

My turn on the Mixed Media Supplies Blog today

I've had this little quote saved for awhile and thought the new year was a good time to use it
We need to start the year off on a positive note

"Don't let someone dim your light, simply because it's shinning in their eyes"

I started with a stencil that had different sized boxes in it and some modelling paste, while the background was still wet I stamped the Chain Link Fence Rubber Stamp from our Store into it so it gave it more texture

As you can see the paint went into the grooves of the Stamp

I also used the Crackle Rubber Stamp also from the Store

Thanks for visiting I hope you will be back soon xx

So Sweet For Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges

Hi everyone

This months Challenge at Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges  is Sponsored by Tando Creative who are giving 2 prizes of 30% discount for their online STORE

I created this little canvas of our gorgeous great nieces who are nearly one already it's gone so fast

I painted the background with gesso then used a heart stencil with some modeling paste
once that was dry I painted the background with some yellow and blue paint that I
watered down and sponged back the excess

I added a few embellishments with flowers and some paper dolls

A little ribbon here and there a few beads and that's it

Thanks for visiting I hope you will be back soon xx
